Yoga & Pilates for schools

Yoga has evolved over the last 5000 years and has adapted into a precise and practical form of total health maintenance. The word Yoga means 'Union' and refers to the relationship between the body, mind and spirit. When practiced regularly Yoga can assist in reducing stress related conditions such as insomnia, digestive issues, and respiratory or nervous disorders. Yoga also helps greatly improve your physical wellbeing especially when working conditions can contribute to back, shoulder and neck discomfort.

The Business of Yoga can provide a practice that completely suits your school environment. We have a wide range of yoga instructors with varied training and experience for you to choose from.

Yoga can be very physically dynamic and challenging, quiet and passive, or both. There are aspects to calm the mind and emotions, to strengthen the breath and body, and to deeply relax the whole being. Whatever your needs we can design a class to include everyone all in the same class. We have been teaching in secondary schools, primary schools, even preschools for over 8 years.

TESTIMONIALS

Dromana Secondary College students: " I am so much looser for football practice." " It takes you away from everything." " It has got me in touch with my own body and helped me relax." " It helps me wind down."

Flinders Pre school: "yoga is cool",  "can you please give us some yoga to do over the holidays, he loves it!", from a mum, the children often go home and show mum and dad what they have been doing.

COST

Classes cost $120 per class,  when a regular booking of 8, 10 or 12 weeks is made. If you have two classes back to back on the same day or two or more classes a week are then there is a discounted rate. If the school group is quite small then the price can be negotiated.

    HOW IT WORKS
  •  work out how many people/students will be involved in the class, we suggest around 25 at a time to give you the best individual care and instruction
  • find a space in the school that will accommodate the number of people attending, this can be worked out by how many yoga mats will fit on the floor or how many bodies lying down and ideally it will be quiet so the student can focus and not be disturbed
  • decide if you would like a regular weekly class for 8, 10 or 12 weeks at a time or just one
  • and then a day and time that suits you
  • we will provide instructors with all qualifications and insurances for you to choose from.
